Nice. I enjoy making and eating coleslaw. I would do it differently. I would do the cabbage, the onion but I would use carrots. (The apple is a nice addition. I also love gherkins, yum – but never would have thought to use them because of the vinegar.)
As for the dressing, I would use part mayo, part creme fraiche or natural yoghurt (to make it healthier). I’d perhaps add mustard powder…
Here’s another tip, should you feel like a change. Winter coleslaw. Swap your white cabbage for red cabbage, again keep the carrot and onion and you can also add dried cranberries. Yum.
I LOVE that you’ve made this process into a cartoon – that’s fab!
I have tried your method before except for cranberries. I think I will make a winter coleslaw for next weekend when I go over to my kid’s house for dinner.
Thanks for the like on my cartoon. I am glad you did.
I certainly did – I think this is a fantastic way to share your recipe, in fact I think we should get a little collab going on with different cartoonists who also like to cook… We could have some fun interpretations of these culinary delights.
For me the cranberries give lovely colour, nice flavour and a good contrast in the texture. Great work, as always, Mr Ogre!
