Planet Yet to Be Discovered

This drawing of a fictional planet was drawn with Crayola Crayons & colored and edited in PhotoShop Elements.

I have one wish for the Crayola company: make single color sets available. What looks like black, is actually several blues and purples as well as black, just layered very deep. I now am quite low in three colors: all blues. I did use PhotoShop lightly. The overlaying texture is a PhotoShop option. It is really easy to do and took less than a minute to apply.

There is no graphite work or use of yellow highlighters like I normally do. I did not want the odd texture graphite give crayon work and I was quite worried about too much yellow, even though the scanner seems to ignore highlighter yellow for some reason. Fortunately, the yellows in the Crayola 64ct box do show up, other wise I would need to spend a lot more time in PhotoShop then I did.

Eventually, I’ll try drawing the earth, but that will take a bit more practice and much bigger paper as crayons do not yield a great amount of detail.

About these ads

The Ogre works as a call-center phone-monkey. He would eventually love to work as a commercial illustrator or self-sufficient webcomic. The Ogre loves many things and hates few, however he has issues with almost everything (mostly because he has issues--he's started having acne around and on his nose and sitting place again). The Ogre is forty-somethin' flippy years old for goodness sakes and is loosing his mind.

Cool. I’ve played around with crayola Twistables..A primitive tool but still works.

  3. How about Saturn as a half way build up to earth? The rings would be fun (I think?)

amazing work ! simply inspiring !

    • Thanks dude, I appreciate it. Did you manage to keep the power on?

      • My Say says:

nope……it took 12 long hrs for them to get back the power and i had a back for only 4 hrs .. that too no heavy electrical equipment could be used …. :) hence that was BLACK DAY for me when i could’nt be around my laptop ! :) but now that it is back..all we Indians can do is pray for the incident not being repeated … as they are yet to find out why did it happen apart from one reason that all the states were overdrawing elecricity hence the grid had to fail someday !

      • I read that, too. I thought it was an incredibly fake answer. I think they are trying to avoid what would happen here: impeachments!

      • My Say says:

yes ! at the end …in Indian politics .. everyone is scratches each other’s back ! Counted in numbers are genuine Political Leaders in India , rest all, are there to mint money and deposit it in Swizz Bank ! Its been over 60 years … where does India stand ? What benefit are we to our own countrymen forget ..the world ! The blackout is just a trailer of how mismanaged the country is at present !

      • I think India is not alone in this. I hope with the openness of the internet will begin to create transparency in not on India and the rest of Asia, but also the United States. Mitt Romney, a candidate for the presidency, is famous for his Swiss and Caribbean bank accounts. One would think the US would embrace transparency, but even Obama is fighting it even though he promised to champion it.

I hope you and your family are safe. I also hope the looting is not too bad (during blackouts here, looting and other crime is huge). Good luck man. Stay safe!!!

u see that is the major reason… India is also considered a Spiritual Hub.. guess u know why , now ;) all we do is pray(that is the only thing helpless people do) for our well being and our family’s …as the administration is never bothered ..probably a little better than Somalia or Pakistan .. but trust me India was probably better as British Colony … at least we knew we were slaves to people of other country. It is more embarrassing now to be slaves to few powerful people of our own country ! :) Thanks anyways , Aaron !
