Pig at the London Olympics

This political cartoon was drawn with a Fine Point Sharpie, lettered with a Micron Pen no. 1 & colored and edited in PhotoShop Elements.

I want to be very clear: unions have done a lot of good, just like large corporations have; BUT simultaneously, unions have done as much evil in the world as large corporations. I think unions, like global corporations have caused governments to bankrupt themselves, caused education to corrode and caused families to move below the poverty line for the sake of political expediency.

As a note as a writer, I wanted to insert Mitt Romney into the comic, because Mitt has made a fool out of himself while in London for criticizing their games–I just couldn’t do it and emphasized the concept of quid-pro-quo like I wanted to. Romney should have allowed the overly critical British press do that for him. The British press is great for that kind of thing. Now he looks like an idiot and that smear is rubbed off on the people here in Utah who produced a fantastic Olympics that has not bankrupted the state or region. Sometimes I wish politicians knew when to simply shut up.

I also borrowed the base concept for the comic from one of my favorite webcomics that used to post over here on WordPress: Ned & Larry.

About these ads

The Ogre works as a call-center phone-monkey. He would eventually love to work as a commercial illustrator or self-sufficient webcomic. The Ogre loves many things and hates few, however he has issues with almost everything (mostly because he has issues--he's started having acne around and on his nose and sitting place again). The Ogre is forty-somethin' flippy years old for goodness sakes and is loosing his mind.
