Sounds like Britain
I think in the way modern democracies have set themselves up, the middle-class is the engine that has fueled government. I don’t mind that the government funds many programs, but there is a point where the government has gotten too big. The UK has a government that is huge compared to GNP. There has got to be a balance point, but right now governments are so big that the middle-class can not live in the comfort their income should have brought them.
Unfortunately, I think I fall into the lower class, along with quite a lot of Chard for some reason… Gotta agree with you though, the government has a tendency to concentrate on one group at a time to the exclusion of the others, each time pissing EVERYBODY off. Lol.
Yeah, I’m poor with middle-class aspirations. I’m a substitute teacher on summer break meaning no money and too much time on my hands.
Lol, I’m a chef at a ready meal factory (yay).
Lol!!!
Yeah I know, awesome sauce. *rolls eyes* And I hate cooking!
This was really cool how you layered the image and as I kept scrolling down I found one surprise after the other. Great job!
Thank you very much, I appreciate that.
This sketch is brilliant, and the message is spot-on! George Carlin would be proud!
George Carlin, oh my. Thank you very much.
Like Pogo Possum I’m a supporter of the extreme middle…;o)
Pogo is my favorite comic. Thank you for the comparison, you are way too nice.
Like the old song “Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right and here I am, stuck in the middle with you.”
Absolutely! Great friends these jokers.
The subjects in your cartoon represent the truth very clearly, yet many people still don’t see it. You should work as an illustrator!
Thank you. I’ve thought about it, too. I’m getting ready for a career change, so we’ll have to see.
I see layering was referred to. I don’t know how to do that. How was color applied ?
I draw every image in stages and scan the then stage and color it separately. Once all the layers are colored a single color, I stack the layers in order of completion and then save the combination as one image. This image “Drowning” was four different scans and images combined into one image.
I will have to study this
I’ll post a procedural.
